This is a Chrome Finish 100 Percent Shut-Off Valve and will completely stop the flow of water on pipes with standard water pressure. Some homes/locations have abnormally high water pressure, and will cause the valve to drip sslightly.
The valve is 1/2 inch male pipe thread by 1/2 female pipe thread (standard for shower head). Do not confuse this valve with a volume control, which is what all other companies sell. A volume control restricts the flow of water, but will not stop the flow completely. A volume control is used on a shower head to change the rate of water spray pressure. It is NOT suggested that a shut off valve be used to turn off the flow of water at the shower head without turning off the flow of water from the handle/mixer.
